Phil had an accident during the opie season this year. They were hit by a rogue wave and Phil broke some ribs and had some internal bleeding. He was stuck here at St Paul Island for a couple days before he was able to get on a plane to Anchorage. Hope he’s doing much better out there. I know his crew are doing ok because they are still out there fishing and were just here at St Paul to offload yesterday along with the Northwestern and Time Bandit.
Season is going to be a long one this year with about 63 million pounds to catch.

Wow, these are great pictures of the captain. The top one I love the most, I have never seen eyes like his. They almost seem inhuman.
