Capt. Phil and your boys(men!). Phil, I am wishing you a speedy recovery. I love your show, Deadliest Catch” and especially the Cornelia Marie. I will never eat crab again without thinking how dangerous the job of crab fishing really is. Only real men can do this job!!! Keep the great work.

To whoever said Josh’s ears needed to be fixed,
I think there’s nothing wrong with them. They make him even cuter. (oh God I can’t beleive I’m taking Josh’s side..) And they aren’t even that bad. I’ve seen worse.

Phil, I wanted to let you know how much your fans are worried about you. I watch football, but I’ve never yelled at my tv screen as much as I did when you waited so long to get yourself checked out. I just felt sick when I heard about the DVT, because I appreciate just how serious that is. I recently watched a close friend and mentor struggle with the same condition, and it was extremely scary. On the bright side, about a year later he’s going off the anti coagulants and seeing how it goes, but he’s having to keep a careful eye on his own health. Listen to your doctors!
July 20th, 2008 at 1:02 pm
Yummy… not the fish!
July 15th, 2008 at 7:52 pm
Phil, We are glad that you are doing better but while watching”after the catch” you seemed like a big baby !!! GET WELL SOON AND BTW, GROE YOU SOME NUTS !!
July 13th, 2008 at 1:19 pm
Hi Guys,
Just stopped by to say hello. Phil, I am glad to hear you are feeling better. Just couldn’t watch Deadliest Catch without you on the Cornelia Marie.
So, how does a terrific lady get to meet such an awesome man as yourself? Do you have any favorite hangouts in Everett or anywhere else in Puget Sound when you’re not fishing? I sure would love to meet you sometime.
Chris

Hey Phil hope your doing well. Just dripping a line here (no pun intended) from Ottawa Canada to let you know I am thinking of you and how much I love the Deadliest catch. Please Please Please get better and stop drinking all that red bull and quit smoking.
July 9th, 2008 at 3:25 am
Hey all from the Cornelia Marie just stopping by to wish Phil good health and to try to cut back on the cigarette habit, I guarantee it’s especially hard with your line of stressful work. Your crew is my favorite on the show and I have to say never thought a girl would be so interested in crab fishing, it is very exciting and scary stuff. Phil just to let you know you have produced handsome offspring, I want to go back to Alaska just so I can visit the Aleutian islands, I would love to see your boat and Dutch Harbor up close and personal. I’m on the other side of the country down the street from the Blackwater USA headquarters in NC. Good health and safe journeys in the Bering Sea. Hooah!!!!!
July 2nd, 2008 at 10:03 am
Phil, I was just noticing those sexy boots you got on in this shot from People Magazine. Where did you get them? They remind me of a set of Nocona python boots my daddy has. I swear that man has every kind of boot ever made on Planet earth. Last count……52 pair. And he bitches about women’s shoes…LOL!!
Best wishes on your continued recovery. Much love from Fort Worth, Texas

Phil you are looking much healthier. When I saw “Mortal Men” I broke down and cried. And when you didn’t want to tell your sons about coughing up blood I yelled at the TV. You’ve got quite a stubborn streak in you, but sometimes you hafta give in and take care of yourself. Your dedication to the Cornelia Marie and crew is wonderful. You continue to follow Drs orders and you’ll be back on DC in no time. May the Sea Gods smile on you. And by the way you are one sexy Capt. God Bless.
June 28th, 2008 at 9:31 pm

Hi there Capt. Phil!!
you had all of us scared to death about your accident, and injury!! You had stated in that epi that you felt alone, and had never been alone before. Well, your not. You have your wonderful sons that love you, and care about you. Also your crew, the other crews on the other F/V’s, and last, but not least, all of your loyal fans!!!!! we may not be able to be right there with you, (all tho I wouldn’t mind that!), we are all there for you in spirit and prayers!!!!! I truely wish that you have good health for many years to come!!!!!!!
June 27th, 2008 at 5:51 pm
Gross pic with the fish guys btw…ewww. It would’ve been way cooler if there were live crabs there, pinching Josh.
Sorry Josh. And leave it to Phil to swear in People Magazine.
June 27th, 2008 at 5:45 pm
No way!!!!!!!!! Phil, I will keep you and your family in my prayers. I hope you get better soon. The show will not be the same without you.
June 27th, 2008 at 4:40 pm
What is this I just read? Phil was only given 6 months to live? Please, Please, say it isn’t so!! Deadliest Catch won’t be the same without him. I love the show and love Phil. What is wrong with him. I have been searching the site, but I don’t see anything about it. Phil, we love you and I will be praying for you.

Hi Captian Phil, Josh, Jake. I am a regular Deadliest Catch watcher. This last week was a real shocker! I truely wish that I could do something to help Phil Besides praying. I’m hoping it will be enough. I feel so helpless. I realize I don’t know you or you’re boys, or any one else on the show, but watching all this time I do say a prayer now and then for each and every crew on the show. Now it seems that one of our fovorites is in need of a few extra prayers. Best wishes Captian Phil, Josh, and Jake. If you ever make it to Michigan look us up, Jim and Cindy.

What a welcome relief to seeing you are doing much healthier. My husband & I watched the showing last night that previewed you getting hurt on the boat. Watching you suffer for your crew and your boat had me in Awww. I must say that I was in tears wishing you’d get yourself to the hospital quickly. I told myself after the show I would look you up and tell you “HOORAH” for being so damn TUFF!!! I’m a huge fan of the show and the show wouldn’t be the same without you and your AWESOME crew. First and foremost please take care of yourself. Not only does your sons need YOU …..your FANS need you.
We just moved from Washington State (Whidbey Island) and truly wished we had known more about this Dangerous job sooner so we could have possibly visited the area. Enjoy your off time and I truly hope to see you and your crew back on Session 4.
(((Hugs))) BTW you are very handsome guy.

Hello Capt. Phil and the Harris boys,
First I want to say that my family is keeping Phil in our thoughts and prayers. I hope you are able to take some time off, rest yourself and let your body do some healing. That said, I really enjoy watching all of you on the show. I hope all goes well for your family and you continue to captain the Cornelia Marie.
Be safe and may you all have fair winds and following seas,
June 25th, 2008 at 6:26 am
OMG Phil! From reading the BLOG I knew you had survived your ordeal at sea, but sweet zombie Jesus I couldn’t take my eyes of the TV as I watched you struggle on despite the fact that your crew and family were all but demanding you head to St. Paul.
I kept yelling at you via the TV to set a course for port! WOW you are a far braver man then I.
PS. The Deadliest Brew is awesome, got my order and loved it! Everyone should try the 24×7 brew!
June 25th, 2008 at 12:14 am
Phil, you are in my thoughts and prayers. Please know that there are many fans that wish you nothing but the best. Please take care…

Phil, to avoid excessive bleeding, tylenol (acetaminophen) is the pain med of choice in over-the-counter stuff. DO NOT take aspirin or ibuprofen. While these drugs have excellent uses, they increase bleeding time, and you know how fun that can be.
June 24th, 2008 at 6:22 pm
You guys are amazing! Good to see that all is well in this photo! Keep up the great work! All of you guys on the Bering Sea! You all have great qualities that you bring to the show! Stay strong! Be Healthy! The cigarettes won’t help you, any of you. Stay Safe!

When I heard the news of the article in People magazine, I ran out and picked up a copy. The article rocked! I just wanted to wish you all well, especially you Phil - I’m sure I’m not the only one worried about you. Take care of yourselves gentlemen and I look forward to more news of the crew of the Cornelia Marie!

It doesn’t take a nurse to know that coughing up blood is bad news. Poor Phil, my mom was freaking out about him being hurt, so I had to do some serious talking to convince her he’s okay and stuff. I hope.
And really, People Magazine? You guys are stars. Especially Jake! He keeps me paying attention during the show, otherwise I end up listening to music half way through the show. Jake’s the star of the show. Jake’s the greatest…ever. Jake Harris, of course.
June 18th, 2008 at 8:56 am
Your show is great my 12 year old son and I love to watch every Teusday. After watching last night I must say I was worried when I saw the blood in the napkin. I’m a nurse so I knew it couldnt be good. So heres an idea when you tap next season you should hire me as a crew nurse!! Love you guys take care and be safe.
June 17th, 2008 at 11:32 pm

My husband has been bugging the crap out of me to move to Alaska because he wants to be a crab fisherman but I have this worrying problem. If you guys ever come through Illinois stop by and I’ll cook you all dinner…my roast is the BEST!

You all look great. Good to see Captain Phil looking so good. Keep away from them Ciggs, all of you. Your job is difficult enough without having health issues. Keep up the good work, we all love watching you here in NY. You are special men.
June 15th, 2008 at 10:45 pm
Hi Captain Phil, Josh and Jake,
You guys are awesome. I love watching the Deadliest Catch. You guys are a riot. I like it when you have fun. You all have a great sense of humor.
Stay safe and I’ll see you on the boob tube. Come up to the Midwest, we’d love seeing you.
June 15th, 2008 at 5:20 pm
Phil, you look so much better. When I’d heard you’d been seriously hurt, I cried then worried as if you were my own family. I was born in New Bedford, MA and grew up around fishermen and working in the fish houses on the docks. Women who live the life know what it is to pray and wait with baited breath for their men to come home safely and alive. Stay safe, Deadliest Catch would not be the same without you, Jake and Josh.
