Hey guys!
Aren’t I so Bothersome? well anyway, You should wear a helmet when you ride. Yep, I was watching Spike and on The Worlds Most Amazing Videos, a guy was riding his bike and and he got a really bad (as I say) Brain Boo-boo. So wear your helmet, or as we say it, Viking Fans!!!! I love the Bears!
August 10th, 2007 at 10:33 am
Phil,
U look GREAT! My Pawpaw has a Harley, He crashed on it once it took him a LONG time to recover from it, but he’s doing well, he still has the Harley but i dont think he rides it alot, He turned back to look at his friend and see if he was ok and went over the crub, and hit a sign, he had to get a metal plate in his leg, and alot of stiches. but that was like 5 or 6 years ago. he would alway put metal stuff up to his leg and they stick to him. i dont want that to happen to u cause u wouldnt be able to go fishing so BE CARFUL!!!!
P.S. BE CARFUL at sea too.

July 4th, 2007 at 11:15 am
Hey Phil! What a great show you guys have! I’m 24 years old and had a baby 2 months ago. I was the last person on earth to be interested in crab fishing until my husband was watching Deadliest Catch one day. I’ve become totally addicted! I watch it more than he does. He makes fun of me for knowing the names of all the boats, their captains and crews. You guys are by far my favorites though. You’re entertaining and really show the world how the most dangerous job gets done. Keep it up, I wish you guys all the best!
July 3rd, 2007 at 5:55 am
Phil,
You have the HOTTEST CREW out of the whole entire show. You guys rock the boat. LOVE YA!!
July 2nd, 2007 at 8:29 pm
Captain Phil,……I am totally amazed each time I watch you and your crew. The respect for who you are and what you do grows each week.
Looking forward to seeing you and your crew again next season. I watched the “After the Catch” segment and felt like I got to know you even more. You are an amazing man…….someone I would love to meet some day. Stay safe……….
July 1st, 2007 at 3:03 pm
Captain Phil,
Sounds like you’re too sexy for your boat! Don’t any men watch this show? Maybe they should call this the hottest catch!
Seriously though, this is fascinating television. You have our total admiration.

You have a very interesting job. I grew up on the gulf coast. Our crab look like big dog ticks.(ha) Nothing like out in the Bering Sea. I would like to try my hand at cooking one time one the cornelia maria just to see if I could do it while on the sea. I love to cook, native american indian from a 5 generation family so I cook alot with this clan. I sent and email on another site about the Harleyand wondering about how hard it would be to balance when I came to a stop. I lost my shadow 750 in a divorce to my ex-husband. I work in a hospital. I do enjoy the show . When i get in your show iis on so I unwind watching you guys fish.ha. Nice to talk to you good luck in your career.

Captain Phil and the crew -
Just wanted to let you all know how wonderful it is to watch you and learn how very hard your jobs are. I am so glad that the Discovery Channel is doing this show - I am hooked!!! I look forward to catching up on all the stories and seeing how life on the Bering Sea really is. I do especially like watching Captain Phil - it is nice to see a man with strength, wisdom and character. You seem to have done a good job at raising your boys also. I really liked the charging incident. Nice to know guys do that too.
Captain Phil - if you ever make your way to Austin, TX - I’d like to buy you a drink and hear a few stories. A transplant from the Rockies -
Take care of yourself and be safe!!!

Hey Capt. Phil and CM Crew,
I would just like to say what a big fan I am of you and your crew. I, too, saw the first one-time episode a few years back as another fan previously mentioned, and I was impressed from day one with the great job you guys do, the risks you take, and the sheer guts you guys have to fight the Bering Sea! I am in Colorado, so of course, seeing you on the open ocean is always a thrill for me. I also am a fan of your “tell it like it is” attitude. It’s refreshing to see someone who won’t hesistate to put people in their place to protect everyone and do the best biz possible. And, you are a great parent to your boys…not trying to be their “friend” like other bad parents of today…you are a PARENT and they will thank you for it later in life. Your crew and sons are great, and you guys keep up the great work, entertaining catch-phrases, and stories on “After The Catch” also, which I also really enjoy.
Stay Safe and God Speed,
tvmarie
June 21st, 2007 at 2:58 pm
Phil & crew,
Been a fan of the show since I first saw the one-time episode years ago.
A big Thanks to all of you who share your life stories with us all. I don’t think the public ever knew just how much you all put on the line, just so the rest of us can enjoy the bounty of the sea. I know, of course, that this is not the reason men go to sea.
As my screen name implies, I am not of sea faring folk, but if you feel the same joy, freedom, and peace as I do when I ride a good horse across an expanse of wilderness, when you get on that boat and head out of the harbor, then I can certianly understand why you all go to sea.
My friends all think that riding out in the wild on a unpredictable animal, with danger of injury, bad weather and sometimes unforseeable pitfalls is a little crazy, but the call of the wild and simpler way of life is a thing that is born in the blood of some, and will always call your heart. And a call to the heart must always be followed.
I have a greater appreciation for the sea, and a greater understanding of the people who love her, thanks to you all.
I hope the crabbing industry continues to gain so you all can persue your calling in prosperity.
May you all stay safe, may the wind be at your backs, may the sea smile calmly at your face, and may your boats all sail true forever.

Phill
I think you are the greatest, a long time ago , I owned a 35/ft trimaran and sailed to Hawaii and back with my cat and dog as my crew, watching the show, brings back so many menories, I never incounted huge or 40 foot waves oror 50 + knot winds, the storms I encountered look like a walk in the park. 20 fot waves 35 knots womds. Watching the show I can hear the ocean calling my name, calling me back to the calm waters, the storms and the birds above and the fish below, once the ocean lives in the e heart , we will alway hear the calling of the sea.
I have written a book, that has some of my sailing experience I would love to send you a signed copy Please visit my web- site.www.donnadennis.net

Hey, Captain! Have fun at the bike rally-try not to get too many bugs in your teeth. I really enjoy the show, but almost wish it wasn’t censored so I could hear all the profanity…I have a feeling you are good at that.

Love, love, love the show. Thanks to the Discovery Channel and Mike Rowe, you and your team of fishermen have become a household name and are welcome into mine and other homes every Tuesday and throughout the week “On Demand”… Especially you Captain Phil…boy, how i wish i can get to the upper northwest and your fishing ground to catch a glimpse of you guys in action. I’m just glad it’s you and not me on that crab boat on those high seas in the frigid Bering Sea. You certainly do have the dangerous jobs in the world. I appreciate my “boring” job more and more each time I turn on “Deadliest Catch”. I look forward to enjoying my “Opelio” Snow Crablegs and knowing just how hard you guys worked to let us have this delicacy on our dinnerplates. Thanks guys!
June 14th, 2007 at 2:06 am
my fave boat&crew!! i really look up to you guys. i love eating seafood and i never knew it was that hard to catch them. anyway, my family and i love you and the show! may you have great crab fishing seasons ahead of you!!!

Hello! I’m Christopher Wood and I’m 24 years old and my girl friend and I are moving out to Washington, State and I will be looking for a job. I’m a great car machanic and I love the water and love to fish. I’m 6 feet 250 pounds and I’m strong and have commons sence. Please e-mail me if you think in the next few months you will be looking for a new crew mate.
June 13th, 2007 at 2:22 pm
From one seaman to another, may the weather be nice, the swells be small, and the crab be plentifull. Most of all may you and the crew be blessed for many years of good fishing. I was injured on a tug boat and my career cut short (for now at least) and I can tell anyone out there the same thing you already know. There is nothing like being out there on the water. It is addictive and it pains me everyday that I cannot be out there now. May God bless and keep the crew and vessel safe and may the crab always gather for the Cornelia Marie.
June 13th, 2007 at 11:30 am
I Love the Show , Cornelia Marie , is my Favorite boat ! And Phil is for sure my Favorite Captain ! And you ride a Harley too , WoW !
Are you married ? My youngest son turned me on to the show a couple of years ago . I’m so fasinated by your job , and had never thought about how Dangerous it is to get the crab , we all Love to eat . Will you ever be farther east , for a bike show or anything ? I would love to see you guys , Especially Phil ! I have a bike too , not a Harley , but I’ve been on the back of one for 8 years , I had one , but it was to small 96 hugger . I have an Arizona Custom Trike , with a springer front end , and Jesse James front wheel . Who cooks for you guys ? I’d love to !See ya next Tuesday!
June 13th, 2007 at 11:08 am
I love the show and so do all of my friends, finally a reality show about true reality. Showing hard working people working in some of the deadliest conditions. I could watch this show all day. You guys do rock, I could never imagine being that freaking cold and sleep deprived while working that hard. And yes please take Jake to the dentist next time I know that was painful, it made me grimace just watching. I hope Jakes finds a new dentist so he doesn’t have to pull any more molars out with pilers. But I do give props for having the b@lls to do that, that looked rough. Anyway, Jake you are a good looking guy so try not to lose anymore teeth.
Good luck to all of you guys with all of the fishing that you do. I hope you catch pot fulls of crab and stay very safe doing so.
June 13th, 2007 at 11:04 am
To ALL the boys on the CM, be safe! I was sorry to miss you when you were in Everett last week my children were severely sick and I couldn’t make it but my neighbors did get signatures for me. TY. I just want to say that no matter how long the show lasts I will always be a Fan and supporter of ALL the ships and ALL the men who risk there lives out there on those waters. You all will always have my prayers every time you go out there.
Be safe.
June 12th, 2007 at 9:09 pm

June 12th, 2007 at 6:35 pm
I’m glad to see there are still people out there that are not afraid of hard work. I’m in the asphalt paving industry doing alot of state roads. We deal with extreme heat and long hours during the summer months.I live in the northeast so we also have a seasonal work year. Like your crew I have a crew and it took many seasons to find the right men for each position ,because ,like your job, this job is not for just anybody I gone threw many guys big and small that thought they could do the job and thought what we did was easy, until they tried it,they could not take the heat and long hours, it’s a frame of mind ,you either like it or you don’t!!!! It takes a team all working together to make the job go smooth,And you seem to have a great team. I also have a good crew that makes a hard job more easy to deal with,That’s why I like the show so much. thanks for your time P.S. Take advantage of the shows sucsess and do like the O.C.C guys did and profit from it ,You guys deserve it
June 12th, 2007 at 5:07 pm

June 10th, 2007 at 3:16 pm
Hey Phil:
Hope you are doing well. I have put a message on before and had hoped to hear from you. I suppose that you are out riding the Harley about now huh? I loved to ride motorcycles when I was a teen - and I suppose I still do. Just don’t have one at this time. I want to tell you that I love the show. I am 46 years old, mother of two (one 26-year son Brandon - a Sheriff’s Deputy) and a daughter - Trissa 23years old (Married, works at Logan’s Roadhouse and has provided with me with the love of my life - my grandson Gauge). I work as a State Investigator in Food Stamp Fraud. I have always loved fishing and the ocean. I live in Alabama where your Cornelia Marie ship was made. I live in Gadsden - Etowah County - Northeast corner of the state.
I will be a fan of this show for as long as it airs. I’m amazed at how just smallest thing can cause a very dangerous sitiation to occur - such as slapping a rope to get it loose from your leg. And your compassion (tears, etc.) at the report of a ship going down - just touched my heart. I’ve always said that a true man is never ashamed to shed a tear. My favorite story in the Bible was when the disciples were not catching fish and Jesus told them to cast their nets on the other side. The nets were filled with fish - bringing joy and shouts from the fishermen. Much like your crew does when you are on the crab! God is good!!
Take care of yourself and hope to hear from you at some time.
Get some rest - King Crab season is coming up soon!! Be cool and keep that blood pressure under control.
Blessings to you and your crew,
Theresa

June 7th, 2007 at 7:44 pm
I just started watching the show a couple of weeks ago. What a gas! You guys crack me up. Although I get sea sick just watching the boat roll on TV, I’d love to go on one of your trips. You all seem to be so tight and in tune. Your example is something corporate America could learn from. It’s all about the end result. Stay safe! I’ll be watching you.
June 7th, 2007 at 5:22 pm
Phil,
I’ve said this before, but you really remind me of my dad..being tough but fair, having a good relationship with your kids and loving to ride your Harley motorcycles any chance you get. I’m only 28 and my dad died unexpectedly last fall, but I have memories of a wonderful relationship to fall back on. He also had a dangerous job (a long-haul trucker), but not as dangerous as yours, and was blunt with his (sometimes expletive-filled) opinions.
God bless you, Jake, Josh, David and the rest of your crew. May your pots always be full and prosperity be with you, and may your boat always be running smoothly.
I went out with my husband last night for my birthday and enjoyed lots of King crab legs…and thought of you guys, Sig and his crew, Greg and his crew, and Keith and his crew…may you always enjoy your work and always remain safe.
–A fairly new, but nonetheless a die-hard fan,
Kendra
P.S. Enjoy the motorcycle rally in August!
June 7th, 2007 at 3:27 pm
God bless & keep you all safe every time you board the boat. I admire the work you do, and the family bond that you have. There aren’t many families who can work as close as you. Just remember that the captain is always boss! (and please watch your blood pressure, some of us worry about you.)
June 7th, 2007 at 1:26 pm
Phil,
I hope that I could meet you some day. That would be cooler than meeting Oprah or Dale Ernheart Jr. You don’t even know. I live in GA, you should visit for some southern cookin. Much love
June 7th, 2007 at 1:24 pm
Sup! I am 15 and started watching deadliest catch in my tech class my freshmen year. I am hooked and I got my dad hooked. I lve to watch your boat pull ahead in the comp. I I will be the first to have a hoodie of the kind I am getting from your store in my school. I love you uys. God bless and be careful.
June 7th, 2007 at 12:32 pm

June 6th, 2007 at 9:40 pm
What can I say that has not already been said. Oh I know, Captian Phil , I worry about you. Are you taking your BP meds? I flet so bad watching you when you found out what the problem was with the Cornelia Marie, but was happy when you went to the Dr. to get checked out.
Just watching you makes me laugh sometimes. Even though there seems to be a lot of bleeps at time.
Dont forget to take care of yourself , (take your bp meds, and breath deep)
All the best to you and your crew.
June 6th, 2007 at 8:14 pm
Hey, I think you guys are terrific, Jake has really came along since I have been watching you guys, don’t too much at josh, he has to learn that you are the boss, I would like to know how many smokes you go through in a season, same for Sig. Take care and be careful

I just think it’s cool that your boat was designed by someone in my area of the country. You guys are my favorite and Josh and Jake remind me of my boys. The next time Jake needs a tooth pulled, please send the kid to a dentist. Or, if you can’t get him to one, just punch him with something to make it fall out. I was hurting watching him pull the thing.
You guys rule!

I am courious is Dutch Harbor accessible by pickup. Is it open to tourist. It looks like some place I would go get away on a much needed vacation. Do you guys Fish for cod in crab off season. I love fishing and always deep sea fished I never fished in a lake until I moved to Texas. Needless to say I lost ALOT of bait. I couldnt tell when the fish were biting. I would like to meet Capt, Moncreifs wife, she made a beautiful cheesecake and it showed on tv. Tell me about Dutch Harbor. I work 7 days a week and belive me I am ready for a quiet vacation. NO PHONES NO CLOCKS
NO PEOPLE BUGGING ME!!! This has been a rough year. I want to know about the aCornelia Maria. Like we say down here Ya ll be careful .

Captain Phil, you are my favorite captain, and I might add that you are HOT!

Phil, I have a question! Why don’t you guys hire a deck “maid” to cook and clean and wash clothes, etc. (A woman) I’m pretty sure I know why women aren’t allowed on the boat(s) but I’m anxious to see your answer. Don’t hold back and, since I think highly of you, don’t be mean either. LOL! I would love to meet you guys in person. Look me up when you’re back in the Southeast! Love ya!

I’m new to this but I really wanted to let you know how impressed I am with the show, the vessels, the captains and the crews. I’m from the Norheast but I’ve always had a fascination for Alaska and would love to visit there someday. When Deadliest Catch started it’s first season I was caught…hook, line and sinker (No pun intended) I love the show and try never to miss an episode. I also think Phil is pretty dam hot!

PHIL IS THE MAN!! I am totally hooked on the show and you are my favorite captain. Your crew is also my favorite crew!! We love the show. I TIVO it and watch it over and over. I’m a Paramedic, so,…..you wouldn’t by chance need a Boat-Medic would you???? Could start a new trend, huh? You are AWESOME!!

Hey who’s taking care of the Cornelia Marie? ; )

Phil, I love your show and you and the crew of the Cornelia Marie! You’re my favorite captain! I love to see that you are a cycle enthusiast too. I work in the motorsports industry and will be checking out the rally. Am interested in what kind of bikes you ride! God bless you and your crew. One of my fav sayings, “The world is not interested in what storms you’ve been through, but rather if you were able to bring the ship home.” That totally makes me think of all of you.

The best boat on the show! Sorry I can not make it to WA to see you, I wish I could. Keep up the good work, and be safe out there!

I can only imagine the winds on the Bering Sea. So what does the skipper do when he’s home? Gets “in the wind” on that Harley! Some guys can never get enough.
I’m in Pennsylvania and have ridden my Road King to Seattle back in ‘03. Sure wish I’d have known about that bar in Ballard you guys hang at. I’d sure like to tip a few with you guys. I’d like to hear some of the stories that don’t get told on the “Deadliest Catch”!
Keep the rubber side down Cap’n Phil. Hope to see ya on the road someday.

Phil and the crew of the Cornelia Marie,
In a word, you guys rock! You are also an inspiration - I live in Northern Canada and I couldn’t put up with the weather the way you guys do, and you do it on the rolling seas!
I plan my Tuesday nights around the 9pm airing of the newest episodes of Deadliest Catch. The show always has me on the edge of my seat. Tonight I even gave up riding my motorcycle because the show is on soon!
I love the way you are both a captain and a dad to your boys Phil; you remind me of my own dad - gruff, firm, but fair and fatherly.
I wish you the best on all of your fishing trips, and keep bringing in those crab!!

I as well watch the show every tuesday night on Discovery, and think you guys could not have a more danerous job. I myself find so into the show i have named my cat after your boat. Her name is Cornelia Marie, sounds crazy but i think you Csptain Phil are the best you keep it real (as my kids say) nothing about is fake. So you and your crew keep it safe and feel free to writ back.
