Hey Phil. I finally got to see the episode with you coughing up blood. I just wonder why you waited so darn long to tell anyone! You are the typical male, but we still love you. I hope that you are well, and in a few ways, I hope that you do not go back on the boat. I only say this because I would not want you to have any more problems at sea. Being in the healthcare fields, I know problems can still arise and at any time. Please take care of yourself and you and your boys are in our prayers every night.

I have been reading the comments and have to say I right there with these ladies. I think Captain Phil is hot…I was sad and happy to hear on After the Catch that he had a new lady in his life. I was sad because it meant that he’s off the market, and happy that he has someone in his life that makes it more complete. Have ya’ll ever thought about a singles website, I mean there are a lot of hot men on the Cornelia Marie. Love the show, keep up the good work and BE SAFE!!!!

  4. Lucinda Says:

Captain Phil, glad you are still with us but so sorry for what is going on. Getting old aint for the weak. You said you have met a nice lady so you better take good care of yourself so you will be around for a long time. Your boys need you even though they are grown.

    Take care and God Bless

  41. RED CRABB Says:

Hey capt. Phil! Do you realize I’m still down here.I am an Opelio and you left me down here by my lonesome. I’m sure you didn’t mean to . I tried to latch on to a pot that you laid here in my neighborhood but my left claw got snagged on some old fishing tackle.I’m full grown and would be proud to grace the plate of any hungry belly wanting to savor my sweet -n- salty-n- delicious contents! Next time you come by, throw over some peanut’s and the i’ll know that you are in the area….I like peanuts….RED

My husband and I absolutly love Deadliest Catch it has been very educational and very interesting to me. The show is so addicting. I cant watch anything else if I know this show is on. Well all you guys stay safe and keep catching the crab as always… PS dont let the new captain of a certain vessal tick you off to much because his cocky attitude will eventually sink his butt. Well you fellas take care and many prayers go out to all … Thanks Cindy

  44. Terri Says:

    “It’s a sad, sad day.”
These words are spoken too many times.
    Ships sink,
as do the hearts of families and friends.
    So many taken,
    more will be claimed.
    May their spirits/souls go
where they are believed to rest.
May the prayers that so many are saying,
    be heard.
Is it for more than money?
    For the challenge? The thrill
    Because you’re good at it?
    Is it for some,
that it runs in your blood,
    generations stong?
    You are strong-
    mentally,psychically, emotionally
    and for most- spiritually.
I pray that you return to your families,
    for you are their protectors,
    their providers,
    their teachers.

  51. gina brooks Says:

I love the show and I love the way you handle the boys Phil. I have a litte crush on your youngest son Jake, but I am way too old for him :) I love the show and watch it faithfully. Don’t help Blake out anymore, he is is young and cocky and does need to learn things on his own, which it looks like he has already learned his lesson in the last episode. Too funny, he did not count right and threw them all back :)
My favorite is when you told Jake that he’s not a man until he pulls a tooth out with plyiers. I agree, but he is one tough dude :) You did good Phil. I want to cook for you guys on the boat. One of these days, Phil, one of these days :) I don’t get sea sick and I grew up on a farm. I cook old fashion comfort food :)
Take it easy and give Jake my love :)
    Gina :)

Hi Cornelia Maria, Phil and crew:

Great job! Hats off to you! I truly enjoy the show and your personalities. Phil, you are a tremendous leader! You are such a remdinder to me of someone long gone…

I can appreciate your passion for Harleys and letting the wind blow through your body as you embrace the experience…I have horses and do appreciate that sensation as well.

Anyway, you rock my world! Stay strong, stay well, and live each day as if it were your last! Keep in touch…I would love to hear more from you and about you…are you ever in the San Francisco Bay Area???

Take good care of yourselves and each other,

    Sandy Dawson

  54. Michael Bowman Says:

    Phil,

My 5 year old son and I think you and your ship are the best. We love to watch you as you interact with your kids and the elements. By the way, stop giving Blake advice. Blake is a punk, and even my 5 year old son does not think Blake is worthy! Blake is a punk that needs to ;earn what “respect” is! Maybe when he has kids, maybe then he will understand.

Keep up the good work Phil!

    Cheers,

  57. Cameo Says:

Rock on Pam A!!! I think those guys probably get a real kick out of reading all this messages about we woman wanting to meet them and all. Most probably think we wouldn’t feel the same way if they weren’t on TV, but I tell you what, if Phil Haris rode up next to me on his Harley, oh baby, I would definitely flirt with him and try to get his attention! He totally ROCKS! This is the most exciting and real television show to come on tv in years! I hope it goes on for many more years! I don’t care much when they show the other boats, I care most what is happening on the CM, Northwestern, Time Bandit and Maverick, in that order! The Maverick isn’t the same without Rick, Donna and Hiram! Blake should be a lot more humble in the presence of so many great captains! Especially the one and ONLY Capt. Phil!!! I’m still waiting in Portland, Capt. Phil!

  58. Pam A Says:

    Cameo,

I agree with you wholeheartedly.. I would make the res and hop on a plane from Ga to have dinner and drinks with sexy Capt. Phil if invited to do so. Being a smoker does not make us second class citizens either as so many people want to treat us that way.. So what if he smokes…
I also agree that it feels good to know that we ladies can put a smile on his face if only for a brief moment of the day.

  59. will abbott Says:

  60. Cameo Says:

Angie from Portland needs to lighten up! I am proud to live in the greater Portland area and Capt Phil has fantastic lady fans from all over the world! So you mentioning that one propositioning fan is unfortunately from Portland is really sad. Heh heh heh, I’d proposition him no matter what town I lived in!! HAHAHA If it brings a BIG SMILE to Capt Phil’s face for we ladies to say we would love to have a drink or dinner with him, then I am happy! It’s no different that online dating or anything else. I’d love to meet a handsome outdoor Harley riding man like Capt Phil! And YOU have a lot of nerve lecturing a grown man about his smoking habit! I don’t smoke but it is his choice. So lighten up Angie! We are all fun loving dedicated fans who love “our boys” on the CM and wish them only the best fishing, safety at sea and much happiness! ~Cameo~ From the Great Pacific Northwest!

I love your show and think that you and the crew members, as well as the other boats in the fleet are amazing. Thank you for showing us how incredible your jobs really are. I would love to purchase anything with the Conelia Marie logo- how and where? Stay safe!

  64. Lucille Says:

Hello Phil and crew of the C.M., My husband and I have watched you guys from day one and we love you like family. I guess theres no chance we will be watching you put Blake in a pot and go fishing…lol He is such a worm! We are waiting for Carma to kick him in the ass. Anyway I just wanted you all to know that we love you and always want you to have a safe trip. PS Anyone would be proud to have a son like Jake, he is a fine young man…but then again look at the example he is following.

  65. Deborah Says:

Well, now, not sure if I am reading the personal ads or what here. Phil must be busy on dates all of the time. So many to choose from! ;) Did you ever think your profession would have led you to your own website with so many fans? Wow! Just wanted to say that the Cornelia Maria is my favorite to watch on the Deadliest Catch. I have been a fan from the beginning! This season, I have let my daughter watch it with me. We settle in with a big bowl of popcorn and enjoy the show. I love the relationship Phil has with his boys. They rib Phil, but you can see the love and respect they have for their Dad. Hope the C. Marie wins!! Deborah from Virginia

  68. kathie Says:

hi, too all I watch you show and love it . I pray for you and your crew. I hope you win your bet. Take care , God be with you

  69. Angie - Portland OR Says:

Wow! You certainly do have a large fan base. You guys are terrific. I really appreciate Capt. Phil’s sense of humor. It is also very endearing to see a family work side by side like this. That is something that you don’t see very often these days.

I do wish you would consider quitting smoking :) With your BP you have to be a little better to yourself. Of course, this might be what led to the “sexy” voice all these women keep referring to.

Is it strange to have all of these propositions floated by women you have never seen or met? Seems a little weird to me. Sadly, one of them appears to be from Portland - we are not all propositioning weirdos here - promise.

What do you folks do in the off season? It would appear that your business is very lucrative - even in one season. It sounds like some of the other boats diversify and fish nearly year round?

I’ve done some deep sea fishing - really enjoy being on the ocean. Although, I can say I have never experienced the bitter cold or the rogue waves that I’ve seen on your show. Thank goodness! I think I am a little too much of a land lubber for that.

Be safe - get on the red gold. Just know that all your fans are pulling for you and will be watching you regularly.

From the Great Pacific NW….. Angie

  70. stormlovin Says:

    Hi Phil
I love rain storms started watching for that reason. Whats the best storm you’ve ever seen and how is it to be in the middle of an ocean getting your freak on with mother nature? love to hear from you myspace/stormlovin

  71. Greyseas Says:

We need to see more………much more of hot hottie hot crew member Dave Millman !

  72. Jerry Thomas Says:

Greetings from Maine! First off, LOVE the show and all the crews involved. I DO have TWO favorites though; Cornelia Marie and the Northwestern. I was wondering if any of the boats ever hire cooks for their crews? Iam 53 and would love to cook for one of the FV’s. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Keep up the Great work but be careful.

    JT

  73. Cameo Says:

Well Capt Phil, you get deeper under my skin with every new episode. Gosh I would love to meet you!!! My heart hurts for you when you have mechanical trouble with the CM. She’s a great vessel! Please keep your spirits up and your BP down!!! This is the greatest reality show on TV. I hope you guys sail the Alaskan seas for many years to come and I hope we get to continue to go along with you!! What I am sure of is that every one of us single ladies would love to know if YOU are single and looking? Your sons are hot, the younger ladies sure do love them, but we mature ladies all want a chunk of you, Capt Phil!!! When are you going to give us a place to write to you and send you pics of us?? Who knows, you may want to meet some of us when you are on land. This Oregonian (Portland area) lady sure would love to meet you over drinks, dinner, and a ride on that Harley!
God bless and keep all of you safe on land and at sea. ~Cameo~

  74. Chelsea From Texas Says:

G’Day Cornelia Marie! Love watching you on Deadliest Catch - do you have a crowd gathering now at the beginning of the season at Dutch Harbour seeing you boys off now? Will have to make the trip up there one year - just to see the boats leave and experience the Bering Sea from a safe distance! Stay safe boys!

  80. narissa Says:

  81. Susie Says:

Captain Phil Harris, You are one HOT man! Nuff said…. ;-)

  82. Christene Says:

Deadliest Catch is the only television show that my whole family watches together. You guys are amazing. Tough, determined, smart, and very funny! I will never ever again complain about the price of crab. It is certainly worth it’s weight in gold, considering all you do to catch it. And the risk taken… wow. May you allways be on the crab.

  83. John DiMarco Says:

I love this show, and i feel like i know the guys i watch it so much, keep up the good fishing, and join my forum if you like, it is new, but im gonna work on it over the next few months

  84. Mistydawn Russell Says:

Finally something great to watch on T.V. This show is brilliant! I have the upmost respect for each and every one of you but will admit that Captain Phil is my favorite. Sexy, down to Earth, caring, entertaining, mischevious, and truly enjoyable to watch. I look forward to watching this show and wish you all an excellent season and a safe return.
    Mistydawn

  85. Rachael Wilmeth Says:

I grew up in Seattle and I’ve heard horrible stories about this since I was old enough to pay attention… I have to say I love the show (Cornelia Marie of course being my favorite boat!) and I’m so glad to see and understand what you boys do. Hugs to you all… be safe!

LOL! You guys certainly are lucky with the ladies now days… :)

  88. Stephanie Says:

You guys are the best! I love your whole crew, they are really interesting to watch. Especially Jake! How can I send letters and what not? Do you have a mailing list? Keep up the good work! You all are very tough and brave!

  89. jim chatham Says:

Capt. Phil-Do you have a regular mailing address that you and your crew are allowed to give out so you can receive mail? Just curious. I spent over 20 years in the US Navy, and can say that the only time that I experienced anything like you all experience on a daily basis is when I rode out two hurricanes on board a Navy destroyer. It was like riding a cork in a washing machine. All of you have my deepest respect and admiration. Keep up the good work, and we’ll be watching your show.
    Thanks. JWC

  90. Hal Says:

“easy on my paint job!” lol!

Sheesh Phil, what are you doing to that poor boat?
    “Where Built:
    Bayou La Batre, Alabama
    Boat builder:
    Horton Boats, Inc. - Falmo”

Should last forever! How about a little preventative maintenance in the off season? is there an off season? Enjoy the docu-show, like your personna, try not to kill any cameramen.

  91. Patty Windom Says:

I love watching you guys! Wish i was in Alaska to enjoy that great crab…and all that hard work you put into it. Watch all the repeats….all the new episodes….even got sooo hooked…..i am here…..dont be afraid to email……work hard, work smart….work safe….and most of all………good luck on finding the largest……biggest crab catch…..

  92. Florida Sunshine Says:

I have been watching the show since the very first episode and I have become a big fan of the CM and her captain. To me, the best qualities a man can have are a good sense of humor and a love of family. Phil, you seem to have both in great quantity. I work in a high stress job as well but this show helps me put a lot of that in perspective. I hope you get your blood pressure down and keep it down. I’d hate for anything to happen to my favorite captain.

Thanks for the laughs and the insight into how other people deal with their almost grown sons (mine is 20). I hope I do as well with mine as you obviously are doing with yours.

By the way, I loved visiting Alaska and I love the sea, but unlike a lot of your fans who want to sign up, this multi-generation Floridian needs to stay where cold water means 65 degrees.

  93. Carol from Jersey Says:

  95. JC Taylor Says:

By far the best boat and crew. I would appreciate it if you could let me know how I can get a Cornelia Marie Coffee Mug? Best of luck

    JC

  96. Scoot Says:

WWWWOOOOOWWWWW!!!! What a rush!!! It is good to see a “reality” TV show that has some acutal REALITY. This ain`t your mama`s “Survivor”. This is the real shit. I was so worried that guy was going to fall overboard last week. What a guy for Capt. John to realize the dangerous situation and not leave until he was safe. Thanks to the unselfishness and brotherhood of Crab fisherman, that young man lived to see his family. We (as viewers) needed that after what transpired on the first episode. I will be watching tonite as always and God Speed to all the Captains and Crew.

  97. Charles Silk Says:

The show is the greatest thing ever. I watch it all the time, i never new thats what went on for us to eat king crab. Thanks for showing us what crab fishing is all about. Where do i get an applaction for that job would love that challeange.

  98. Patty Roberts Says:

    Hello from Omaha Nebraska,

I just wanted to let you know that you are doing a wonderful thing by allowing us aboard your vessel…via the T.V. and web. My family loves the show and we watch it and record it every week. Captain Phil is our favorite Captain. He is fair and funny and we love to watch his interaction with his boys. Thanks again for the opportunity to learn. Have a great summer, you all deserve some good time off.

  99. Kizza Says:

Hi guys. I just wanted to say that I think what you guys do is amazing. I’m from Australia and saw the show for the first time on Sunday and after watching 2 shows I have to say that the Cornelia Marie is my favourite crew. You guys make me laugh and seem to be able to work together very well. Plus Jake is hot.

Good luck this season and be safe.

  100. Heather Says:

To Phil and crew of the Cornelia Marie, You guys rock!!! What u do is an amazing job of catching crab!!! And keeping your lives intact! I am a big fan of the show and wish you the best of luck this and every season!!Keep rockin’ !!!! See ya tonite!!!

  101. Elaine Says:

Hi Phil I wonder if everyone has forgotten about the rotting fish that Captain Sig and his bro put in Blake’s wheel house. I don’t think he found it yet.

  102. sassygirl Says:

Can’t wait to see the new episode tonight!! I wonder Captain, do you get on here and read this, are you ever going to reply? I luv to read what everyone has to say. I hope everyone is safe and comes back to their families safely. The sh– you guys do is amazing and is incredible to watch. You definately need to get that little jackass Blake better, I would luv to see him really get iniated into to being in the wheelhouse. See you tonight!!

    Your #1 FAN

  103. Ike in Pennsylvania Says:

A new fan, after catching the 3 episodes this past Saturday nite. To say you guys have balls doesn’t even begin to cover it!

You guys help make the show what it is- The best M-F’n reality show on television.

    Stay safe and good fishing!

  104. crazymomof4 Says:

You guys ROCK!!!!! The best gags. Loved the pipe that was way to funny. I watch faithfully with and around my children jumping infront of the tv every Tuesday. Not to mentions reruns every morning, sorry Oprah, but I have to have my guys. Can’t wait to see what happens and watch you guys kick Blake’s ass! He’s a punk! Verified by him passing on your information after you saying not to. Take care of the bloodpressure and tell the kids the Bank of Phil is CLOSED!!!! Love laughing with ya and damn near cryed over the wheels. Can’t wait to see more. Wish you lots of crab come October ‘07.

  105. Dave Fritz Says:

    Hi Capt. Phil and crew
Love the show. I would like to make a suggestion if you don’t mind. This would mean for any crab boat. Long outriggers aprox(20-24 ft)that would deploy or be mounted on your stern on both sides and have nylon fence strung out on them( similiar to those rope fence you see in WW2 movies that sailors used to climb aboard a naval ship.) That way when someone has gone over board they at least have an immediate chance to grab onto something. You only have to deploy it when your out at sea. Another idea I have would be a deflated floatation device that the crew would wear around thier jackets (but not cumbersome) in which if in the event they fall overboard the person could pull a co2 charged trigger/handle and inflate the device thus keeping thier head and arms above water(kind of around thier ribs and under thier armpits.) Perhaps it can be sown right into the jackets….Thanks and keep up the hard work.

  106. Aartdina Says:

Wow, I love Deadliest Catch. My dad and I tune in every Tuesday night. We both agree that you are our favorite captain and quote you all the time (”This is bad. This is bad bad!”). This show is really special to me because it formed a special bond between my dad and I. You rock, Phil, and the best of luck this season! -Aartdina

  107. joann from Illinois Says:

My girlfriends at work think that I am crazy for watching a fishing show! I have a new found respect for crab fisherman. You guys are great! I have to say I love the Cornelia Marie crew the best because of all the personalities. And Captain Phil your haircut looks great! Love it!!!! You need to quit smoking tho. Watch that blood pressure! God bless you all.

  108. Amy Says:

I absolutly love the show and I have a newfound respect for crab fisherman. its one of those jobs that you just don’t think about while your sitting at your local crab shack shoveling in the crab legs. My daughter and I wish you the best of luck while “braving the vast Bering Sea” I hope that you and your crew have a safe season and many more.

  109. pattyleec Says:

Capt. Phil, you do have a fan base. Thanks for allowing us to see your life under the watchful eye of those camera’s, I just wanna say..Stay safe. Yea! You are a hottie, that makes it a plus while watching the hair raising exsperinces you all go through.

  110. simply southern Says:

    Hey There!!!
This is the email you need to stop and read,I think your show is one of the best on Discovery. It is very hard to put in a short note everything you would like to say. I think your crew on the boat are the best . Your sons are make me laugh, but they are tough. but Capt. you have stole my heart.since your single, would you ever think about meeting one of your fans one time. you could always put me back on the plane and send me back, kinda like you throw the crabs back that are not keepers!!!! love to see the man in person.. please answer

  111. Jonathan S. Holt Says:

I thought of a better way to “screw with somebody, Cornelia Marie Style”! The next you pull someone’s elses pot (BLAKE), in addition to all of the other pranks, seal the areas where the crab crawl into the pot with some screen or fencing to prevent entrance. As you can tell I am an avid fan. I also enjoy fishing in South Florida, although we don’t get waves quite that large. Have fun and good fishing

  112. Alberto G. Says:

    i ment when. sorry

  113. Alberto G. Says:

    Hey Phil:

Ever since I started watching the show the Corlinia Marie was and is one of my favorite ships. recently I talked to my mom and ask her if I cold join the crab industry he I was old enof and she answerd ” Over my dead body ” . I still want to join and ill try to convence my mother. If that ever hapens The Cornilia Marie will be the first one i’ll ask.

    you rock phil :0

  116. Elaine Says:

    Hi Captain Phil Harris:
I wanted to thank you and all of the crew and all of the boats that have been on this show for enlightening us to just how dangerous your jobs are. I know that alot of the guys do this to take care of they’re families and take on a major risk of never coming back, so when I see the crab in the stores I can’t help but think of the families that have lost they’re loved one just trying to make a living, please let them know that they are in our thoughts and prayers. We also love and appreciate all of you guys and the hard work you do.
I have a few questions for you, the thing that you have on your boat to signal the cost guard if the boat is going down whats to keep one of the guys from grabbing that? I mean so the coast guard can find them faster if they are in the raft. Is it possible for all of the guys in the crab industry to have something to signal the coast gard or any other boat that they are in the drink, “so to speak”, if time is very critical to get to them? I have also wondered how often do you and your crew practice your safety drills? Because when I watch the episode about the Challenger going down the only survivor said they had only 41/2 to 5min. to do what they needed to survive the cold waters. Please If you can or have the time to enlighten me with your info I would sure appreciate it. We’ll all keep you in our prayers for a very safe return every time you all go out.
Love you always my Captain Prince of The Bering Sea

  117. nancy Says:

  124. Mia Says:

I’m a huge fan of this vessell…and unquestionably a bigger fan of the crew. The Harris boys are absolutly adorable. I never knew that crab fishing looked so good!

  125. Mia Edge Says:

Im a huge fan of this vessell…and the crew on it.

  126. Evelyn Says:

Just wanted to tell you I’m a big fan. Strange thing since I never watch reality TV and stick with Law and Order type shows or cops and robber stuff. When I first saw daily old repeats of the Deadliest catch I was hooked. It’s also funny that my sister in law and I haven’t seen each other in months but when she came to visit instead of the usual girly gossip we talked about the show.
Now I never miss it and even though it might seem like we watch only because the pain and misery of the crew, it’s more because the constant strength, endurance, and skill is admiring.

Keep Safe and God bless you and your family

then i started watching Deadliest Catch…and i have to say…uhhhhh! uh! uh! … i turn all girly~girl again…and i think i can actually hear eggs pop when Captain Phil is on camera….

  130. liz. Glasgow scotland Says:

I love the Deadliest catch and never miss it. My fav ship is the Cornelia Marie, and what about that voice of capt Phil, it’s got to be one of the sexiest voices i’ve ever heard, especially when he laughs. I can’t wait for the new series to start. Keep safe all of you guys out there and not just the guys on the Cornelia Marie.

  131. Cheetarah Says:

  132. Jill Says:

Phil, you are awesome!! I’m addicted to the show and watching you. Single and looking?

  133. Sunshine Says:

I really enjoy watching your boat on tv. I really liked the episode where you made it clear to your son that just cause he was family wasnt gonna get him a free ride. I like to see how u treat all your crew as eqauls. My cousins live in Kodiac Alaska. They do commercial fishing to. So it is very nice to be able to see what goes on when the boats are out at see. Do you believe that it is bad luck to have a woman on the boat out there? Much love to you and your crew and I will pray for every boat out there that all the men are able to return home safley. And I love that little fish trick you did under the seat of the other captain. :)

  134. Mark Williams Says:

hi i would very much like a chance to fish on your boat . i live in salem , alabama .and i’m 46 and love watching you all on tv. i know if i had a chance i would make a good greenhorne.

  135. Lydia Says:

God knows I’m tuning in to see if you pull back out there and finish off the season in style, but if not, you’ve got some consolation in all of the fan’s (including myself, of course) clamoring for tshirts and other merchandise…say, will the crew get a cut of merchandise proceeds, lol?

Do hope at some point we’ll be able to see a pic of the actual Cornelia Marie, certainly she needs suitors as well as the crew needs it’s ladies!

Take care, keep that blood pressure low, and morale high!

  136. Mom's fav Says:

Holy Crap….looks like you have a wide demongraphics of fans! Hooray for Cornelia Marie - the woman - for being a great business role model for girls. Hooray for “Deadliest Catch” to bring to the public the sacrifices that the fishermen of the Bering Sea, and the rest of the world, make everyday to bring food to our tables. Hooray for the Capt and crew for their dedication and bravery in what they would call their everyday lives but what the rest of us would call nothing short of incredible.

Oh ya, let me hop on the band wagon..Ya ya Phil is hot….can’t wait for your gear…hope you have CM thongs…..CM is my fav…….and for all you women out there crushing on Phil - well let’s just say - there isn’t anyone hotter than my Mom so you might as well give up…sorry gals…

  137. CaptPhilsChic Says:

You guys have the toughest and most dangerous job ever! I would love to come aboard and be the “Boat Mom” for you guys. All of you deserve a womens “touch” to cook hot meals and take care of you. My zodiac sign is the Crab, so I would fit in just fine! If you guys would like to concider, just give me a holler!

  144. Theresa Says:

    Captain Phil:
I know you receive many messages every day and most likely won’t have time to read them all. But I just wanted to write and let you know that “Deadliest Catch” has become one of my all time favorite shows. I live in Alabama and have very few opportunities to go to the beach. However the ocean is a great mystery to me. There have been many times that I wished to have been born near the sea - I think it’s a God place to be. I love to watch the sun on the sea - it always reminds me that we are all diamonds in the world where we are placed.

My favorite animal is the dolphin - they are the most amazing creatures. I guess yours would be the crab!! There is a quote that I have on my pc here at home and at work - it reads” so said the dolphin: I have the whole day to myself and to others, but thank God, I have my day!” The ocean is in your heart - I can tell - you love what you do. That makes the difference in whether you can be a thirty year veteran sea captain or finally finding your writing capabilities as a Claims Investigator after all these years. I love what I do - it makes you want to get up in the morning.

Thank you for giving a glowing description of what it means to dedicated to something - you couldn’t do what you guys do facing the dangers without sheer dedication. My prayers are for the safety of you and your crew. Have a blessed and safe fishing season - remember God told some fishermen once- if you ain’t catching them - cast your nets on the other side!!! Love you , T

  145. Cameo Says:

Well Capt Phil, you sure are gathering a bunch of groupies for being the best and cutest captain on the Bering Sea! I am still your number one biggest fan from the greater Portland Oregon area! I love riding Harleys and sure would love to take a ride on yours when you are cruising.

PLEASE give us an email address where we can send and hopefully receive email from Capt. Phil! I can’t wait for all the CM merchandise! I am gonna buy everything!

You guys are the greatest and I felt so bad when your wheel broke. But you did a great job hiding your stress! Take care, be safe, we all love ya’! Sure would like to know if you are single or not? You show me your tattoo and I will show you mine! :0) ~Cameo~

  146. Dave Roe Says:

Hello Capt. Phil and all the crew.As a former US Navy sailor,”I love the smell of salt spray in the morning”.The “Deadliest Catch” is the most powerfull show I ever seen. You and your crew are the best example of “TEAM WORK”.I enjoy every show and hope all of the crews from all the boats a safe season.Take care, Dave p.s. Try this Phil,it works for crabbing in Oregon.Take a small bath towel, soak it with pure codliver oil, roll it up and freeze it.Place in bait container in crab trap and let the oils soak out of the towel!! Try this in a couple of traps and if I’m right, send me a couple of fresh crab. Bye-Bye

  147. Tammy Says:

What a great show!!! Dont watch much tv, but never miss the Deadliest Catch!! My stepfathers brother was Hap Tidrington, captian up there in dutch harbor. he was a great guy . 149. Angel Says:

    To all of Cornelia Marie~
I commend you all. I have the upmost respect for each and every one of you. The only times that I have been on the ocean in a boat was in Montauk at age 11 (for a whale watch and my luck a storm) and the other was on the Victoria Clipper about a year ago. There is no doubt that I love the water but I am that girl that turns shades of green and white on the water. Dealing with all the dangers and uncomfortableness (lack of sleep, frigid temps, etc) etc that you do for food people order as part of high-end meals, is just unreal! Next time I eat crab, I will definitely think of you guys and all that you do…

To all that have a connection to the boat (past and present), being that of working on, working for etc-best of luck in the crabbing/fishing seasons and GODSPEED!

Thank you so much for your dedication…(and kick as crab!!! :))
    Please be Careful!!!!
    ~Angel

  152. Philip SIerra Says:

  153. cathy Says:

I am hopelessly hooked on this show….I have great memories of fishing on Chesapeake Bay…but nothing like the Bering Sea…all you guys are just awesome….I admire all of you………. Deadliest Catch is the most exciting show on TV..PERIOD!!!!!!!

  154. Chaz NYC Says:

    Phil,

Love watching the show but I’d like to know more about your home lives. Despite the rough job, I think you guys must be Upper Middle Class suburbanites when you’re away from the crabs.

Would love to see your real homes and what you do away from the fishing. Are your sons torn between the fishing life and perhaps college? Or is crabbing so lucrative that it must be followed or do some sons not take it up? What would you prefer for your sons?

    Stay safe.

    Chaz NYC

  155. Leedah Says:

CAPTAIN PHIL! EVERYONE OBVIOUSLY HAS A CRUSH ON YOU, SO, I’LL JUST SAY TAKE CARE AND KICK SOME TAIL THIS SEASON!!

THIS GEORGIA GAL IS CRAZY ABOUT YOU TOO! :)

  156. Krista Says:

I have just recently become a “Deadliest Catch” addict. Me,… a second grade teacher from Kentucky! I can’t believe it myself. The most we probably have in common is that the school where I teach is located on the largest man-made lake in the state. (Impressive, huh?) Anyway, the children I teach are, in many cases, from homes with little hope or thought to the future. How different your lives are to them! I don’t know if the kids think of you as rock stars, aliens, or some fantastic combination, but the show is one of those special windows to the world that IS out there. I certainly have no illusions that my little “bluegrass babies” will soon be headed your way. However, the more of these windows that can be opened to them, the more likely they will be to freely choose a life for themselves out there in a great big world where a group of unbelievable people live it right to the edge every day.
God bless. Be safe. Thank you.

  157. Kris Says:

    I love Capt. Phil :)

I hope you guys are on the new episodes!
The Cornelia Marie is my favorite!

  158. Patricia Yvonne Says:

    Dear Phil:

Life holds many challenges, some of the challenges are brought to you, others are faced. I reside and work in the Automotive world (Detroit, Michigan General Motors), and there are times I do travel all over the world to discuss my views and opinions to other executives; henceforth, I face many challenges in the automotive marketing world from HUMMERS that we use to protect our country, personal and business vehicles, and employment, but I have never challenge mother nature as much as you do Phil.

You are a wonderful man, Phil…I wish you all the luck and success in the world…I hope to hear from you soon…you may write to me at this address: http://www.inputchantilly@hotmail.com

I would love to hear from you…

  167. Bunches Says:

Hey Phil and Crew, just had to tell you that I am completely addicted to Deadliest Catch, all because of ya’ll. I’d tell Phil how big of a crush I have on him, but Diane (from the other blog) seems to have that area covered… shes got a few years on me, by the way!!
I came on here looking for a shirt I can ride in (I ride my own Bike, Phil.. which is MORE points in my favor). Would love to have one that repeats my favorite quote.. “Yeah, its great lifestyle”. But, will take what I can get. (one more point!)
Oh, and that whole thing about taking women on the boat.. thats crazy. I get woozy on the gambling boat, let alone the freakin Bering Sea. You can have that. (score one more, Sanity).
Woohoo, look at me go with this whole points system I just made up… I’m winning the “who can pick up Phil on the Blog” contest!
Anyway, all joking aside, I love the show, I have the utmost respect all the men and women who live the lifestyle.
Be safe, stay goodhumored, and keep the handlebars pointed towards the heavens.

  168. desertstar12 Says:

  171. Gypsylost Says:

I have watch the show and have to say - The men of the Marie have to be the bravest - comparing them to any Military force out there. Maybe the training isnt the same, but the “hands on training” is one of a kind.
The sea is a big, large, strong woman and she will take you if given a chance.
God be with the crew of the Marie, and may he hold all of you in the palm of his hands every season, to keep you safe.

Back in my younger day (summer 1992) I fished (long line) out of Homer. We stopped at Kodiak. And I snapped some pictures. I didn’t think much about it till the series on discovery channel. Lo and behold I snapped a pic of the Cornelia Marie. The series brings back some really good, albeit exhausting memories. the fish dreams still occur once and a while. That summer I made enough money to pay off my student loans and for my last year of college. I am a landlord these days. I also became addicted to King Crab and Halibut while there. my nephew and i watch the show religiously these days. he is a northwestern fan. I am full on a Cornelia Marie fan. Go Capt. Phil! keep it up and be safe.

  186. T Says:

I’ve been hooked on Deadliest Catch since the first season. I always wondered how much competition there is between Sig of the Northwester and Phil. I also was wondering how the heck the prop broke.
I was at dinner with a friend who ordered snow crab (Opie) and sat there while she worked and worked to crack the legs to get to the meat. Two thoughts went through my mind; its almost as hard eating opies as it is catching them, and I wondered if I had watched that crab being caught on Deadliest Catch.
Stay safe and well, best of luck fishing.

  187. Mac Dorfner Says:

Hey capt. Phil, I noticed capt. hansen fishing for cod in the off season. Do you like that kind of fishing or is it worth the risks you guts take. I know that its a damn good eating fish. Iwouldnt mind having a freezer full
